Who Should Attend An SMSTS Training Course?

If you’re about to take on a managerial role in construction or engineering, you may be in a situation where you need to understand more about construction health and safety regulations. The better you are at understanding your responsibilities, the more effective you will be at your new job.

Target Zero Training ’s SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) course, which can be attended online or at one of our venues, will ensure you have a thorough understanding of the health and safety regulations and what it is required from you. As well as learning about the various legislation that applies to construction and engineering sites, you will understand the importance of regular risk assessments occurring in the workplace. You will also learn how to identify, monitor and control hazards often associated with the building and civil engineering sectors. By the end of the course, you will be able to apply health, safety, welfare, and environmental policies and procedures on-site.

As part of the course, there will be a variety of syndicate exercises and at the end, there will be an exam comprising 25 questions: 18 multiple choice and seven written questions. You will need a minimum pass rate of 81% to receive your certificate, which is valid for five years. An SMSTS course must be attended for the full five days to successfully complete certification.

Health and safety regulations within the construction and engineering industries change regularly over the year.
