Millions of people all over the world are animal lovers, but there are certain types of animals which are favoured as household pets more than others! Whilst there are some fairly obvious reasons why you can’t keep animals such as lions or tigers in your house, there are still plenty of other breeds to choose from. Everyone has their own favourites, and the argument between cats and dogs can last all day long! Here are some of the most popular household pets today.
Dogs
Dogs offer utmost loyalty to their owners and are not called man’s best friend without good reason. The chances are that you will definitely know at least one person who has a dog for a pet. They prove to be wonderful companions and are great for getting you out of the house and walking.
Cats
Cats know what they want from life and they want you to look after them! Cats don’t necessarily need as much attention as dogs do, but they certainly enjoy being petted over.
Hamsters
Great for families which don’t have a lot of space, hamsters can be kept in a cage in the corner of the room. They may not be as physically interactive with you as cats and dogs are, but they are very cute all the same.
Rabbits
The subject of many children’s books and stories, thousands of people enjoy looking after their own rabbits. Create a rabbit hutch and run in the back garden and let them nibble the days away.
